The biggest surprise in the Arun Jaitley budget is that there is no
surprise. Over the years, one has heard the learned Finance Minister
Arun Jaitley talk about inflation and the suffering common people so
many times. . Yet, when it came to his turn to do something, it is
regrettable that he did nothing. In fact, prices started rising strongly
and the government seemed helpless. The lack of a direction and time
table to control prices has led to deep disappointment. In fact, the
Government seems to have blamed the weather for everything and say we
cannot do anything about the Monsoon.

Pullarao Pentapati - India inflation unique in Asia
The comparative figures and data related to
Indian inflation were made available in the Lok Sabha by the Finance
Minister Arun Jaitley, in reply to a question, on July 18, 2014. The
data reveals that the inflation problems of India are its own-making and
there is no such trend in other Asian countries. The Indian government
for the last 4 years has been blaming international factors for the
persistent Indian inflation. This blame seems to be at odds with the
factual data.

Pullarao Pentapati - The coming Budget on July 10, 2014
Within a day, we will know whether Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is
any different from Congress Finance Minister. I would like to warn
Narendra Modi that he does not have 5 years time. Many advisers say
that for two years there must be harsh measures and then after that,
government can show progress and give people benefits.

Pullarao Pentapati - ArunJaitley Facing A Tough Election in Amritsar
The un-expected always happens. Amritsarparliamentary constituency was represented by cricketer and TV celebrity Navajot Singh for 3 terms on behalf of the BJP. Siddhu was always easilyelected as the BJP had an alliance with the Akali Dal. Amritsar had always a painfulmemory of the Congress since this was the place where the Army had to enter the famous Golden temple in 1984, the most holiest of shrines for the Sikhs.
